1995 - 05
The Beginning of a Vision for Modern Diagnostics
In 1995, MUDr. Ladislav Pásztor founded Medicína Nové Zámky. He began building a diagnostic center with the goal of bringing high-quality healthcare and advanced imaging technologies beyond Bratislava. This project demonstrated that cooperation between the private sector and public healthcare institutions could improve access to modern diagnostics for patients.
Following the success of the Nové Zámky center, he expanded diagnostic services by opening Dr. MAGNET Ružinov in Bratislava. At the time, the Siemens Avanto 1.5 T MRI system represented a significant advancement in diagnostic capabilities, expanding opportunities for both patients and physicians.
In the following years, additional MRI centers were established, including Pro Magnet Prešov and MR Poprad. Step by step, a network of modern diagnostic centers was built across Slovakia. A strong focus on technological innovation, high-quality equipment, and a skilled team became the foundation for the company’s growth and the formation of the group that would eventually become PDG.
2011
The Establishment of Pro Diagnostic Group
The origins of Pro Diagnostic Group were driven by the ambition to expand access to specialized diagnostic services in regions where the capacity of modern imaging facilities was limited.
A key milestone in the establishment of Pro Diagnostic Group came with the entry of a new shareholder, who supported Dr. Pásztor’s original vision and enabled its realization. Through strategic partnership, investment, and the gradual expansion of diagnostic centers, the foundations were laid for building a strong nationwide diagnostic group.
What began as a network of MRI facilities gradually evolved into a significant group of diagnostic and healthcare centers operating throughout Slovakia.
2012-19
Company Growth and Expansion of Diagnostic Services
Between 2012 and 2019, Pro Diagnostic Group continued its dynamic growth and gradual expansion across Slovakia. The company strengthened its position in the field of Magnetic Resonance Imaging through the establishment and development of several MRI centers, including Dr. MAGNET Kramáre, Pro Magnet Košice, MR Žilina, MR Levice, and Dr. MAGNET Ružinov Polyclinic.
As part of its development strategy, the company also expanded its portfolio to include radiology diagnostic services through the acquisition of Pro RTG. This step significantly strengthened the Group’s diagnostic capabilities and improved access to modern imaging services for patients across Slovakia.
2018
Ribera Salud Becomes the Majority Shareholder of the Company
The Spanish healthcare group Ribera Salud, one of Europe’s leading healthcare providers, became part of the ownership structure of Pro Diagnostic Group. Ribera Salud operates a network of hospitals, outpatient clinics, and diagnostic centers in Spain and internationally. The entry of this strategic investor brought international know-how, extensive experience in healthcare management, and the capital needed to support further growth.
This partnership marked an important milestone in building a strong and sustainable healthcare group with a new ambition—to provide high-quality healthcare not only in Slovakia but beyond its borders as well.
2020-22
Entry into the Czech Market and Expansion of the Service Portfolio
Between 2020 and 2022, Pro Diagnostic Group continued to execute its growth strategy and entered a foreign market for the first time. The expansion into the Czech Republic included the opening of new diagnostic centers, Pro Diagnostika Praha and MR Centrum Mělník, strengthening the Group’s geographic presence and establishing its position in the Czech diagnostic services market.
This period of development also included the expansion of the healthcare portfolio beyond diagnostics through the acquisitions of OB Klinika and Medicentrum Praha. These acquisitions brought new clinical expertise, broadened the range of healthcare services provided, and supported the further diversification of the Group’s activities.
As a result, Pro Diagnostic Group strengthened its position as a significant healthcare provider in the Central European region.
2021
New Company Headquarters – Nivy Tower
In 2021, PDG relocated its headquarters to modern office space in Nivy Tower, Bratislava. The new premises created the conditions for further team development, more effective collaboration, and the continued growth of the entire Group.
The Group’s expansion also required strengthening the capacity of its headquarters, which provides professional, operational, and administrative support to healthcare facilities across Central Europe. For this reason, the company moved to new offices in Bratislava’s downtown district, a rapidly growing business hub that has become home to many leading domestic and international companies.
2021-23
Expansion of Diagnostic Services – Nuclear Medicine
In 2023, PDG continued its strategic development by expanding its service portfolio in the field of Nuclear Medicine. The addition of Vivamed and Gammalab strengthened the Group’s position in the specialized diagnostics segment.
Entering this highly specialized field enabled the Group to offer patients and physicians advanced diagnostic methods such as SPECT and SPECT/CT, which are based on the evaluation of functional processes within the body. This expansion added another important pillar to the Group’s existing portfolio of imaging services.
2023
PDG Becomes Part of the French Healthcare Group Vivalto Santé
In 2023, Vivalto Santé became a shareholder of the Ribera Salud Group, of which PDG is a part. This milestone marked the beginning of a new phase of growth, development, and international collaboration within a strong European healthcare network.
The partnership created new opportunities for sharing expertise, further expanding the portfolio of services, and strengthening PDG’s position in the modern healthcare market.
2025
Expansion of the Service Portfolio and Entry into the Polish Market
2025 marked a significant milestone in the Group’s strategic growth and diversification of healthcare services. The Group entered the Polish market through the acquisition of Multi Med, a provider specializing in diagnostic imaging and outpatient healthcare services.
As part of its expansion, the Group also integrated Medican Clinic in Trnava, a healthcare facility specializing in outpatient surgery, traumatology, general surgery, and rehabilitation services. The clinic features modern radiology facilities, including MRI and X-ray services, as well as a short-stay hospitalization unit.
Later that year, the Group welcomed Pneumo-Alergo Center in Bratislava, providing specialized care in pulmonology, allergology, and clinical immunology. The center also offers sleep disorder diagnostics and pulmonary rehabilitation for patients with chronic respiratory diseases.
2026
Opening of the PET/CT Center in Prešov
In 2026, PDG opened a new Nuclear Medicine facility, PET/CT Prešov – the first center of its kind in the Šariš region. The project represents a significant step toward improving access to specialized oncological diagnostics for patients in eastern Slovakia.
The state-of-the-art facility offers advanced diagnostic technologies, enhanced patient comfort, and faster access to examinations, eliminating the need for patients to travel to more distant regions for specialized care.
